FAQ: Carpet Cleaning

Question: How long will it take to clean my carpet?

Answer: On average, it will take approximately 20 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal treatments.

Question: Will water ruin my carpet?

Answer: Water can damage carpet if it is not properly removed or overused. However, Air Fresh Chem-Dry only uses 1/10 the amount of water/moisture that steam cleaning companies and shampooers use. Also,  Hot Water Extraction is the method of carpet cleaning that most manufacturers recommend.

Question: How long will it take for my carpet to dry completely?

Answer: Drying time depends on humidity levels, airflow to the room(s) cleaned, and the type of carpet. In general, turning on your air conditioning or fans will help accelerate dry times. While it typically takes 1-2 hours for the carpet to dry, you can walk on it as soon as we are finished (just remember to remove street shoes first to avoid re-soiling). Sometimes carpets can take longer to dry for various reasons.

Question: Will my carpets re-soil quickly after the cleaning is finished?

Answer: We use an all natural, biodegradable carpet and upholstery cleaning solution that is virtually residue free.

Question: How long do I have to wait to use the carpets?

Answer: Carpets can be walked on with clean bare feet or clean socks immediately after the cleaning. We do recommend as little activity on the carpet as possible to avoid re-soiling or mishaps. Also, be careful walking from carpet to hard surfaces as it can be very slippery when carpets are wet or damp.

Question: Will your chemicals harm my pets or kids?

Answer: No. Air Fresh Chem-Dry uses an all natural, Green Certified cleaning product as a core cleaner. This upholstery & carpet cleaner is called The Natural and is on the F.D.A.’s G.R.A.S. list.

Question: Do you move furniture?

Answer: Our professional technicians will move sofas, love seats, chairs and tables.

Question: Do I have to be home while the carpets are being cleaned?

Answer: It is not necessary that you be home while your carpet is cleaned because we are thoroughly trained professionals you can trust. In order to provide the best possible service, we do recommend that someone be home before we begin cleaning to discuss any specific needs or areas of concern regarding the care of your carpet.

Answer: Call us at 1-866-384-7474. We offer a 30 day guarantee. If spots reappear, so do we- Happy and at no charge, once within 30 days of your original appointment date.

Question: Why should I have my upholstered furniture professionally cleaned?

Answer: In homes that have carpet, up to 80% of the dust and dirt brought into the home can end up in your furniture and upholstered fabrics and even carpeting. Two benefits of cleaning upholstery is preventing damage

Question: How often do upholstery manufacturers recommend to clean furniture items?

Answer: Manufacturers recommend professional upholstery cleanings every 24-48 months. Sometimes professional cleanings are required more frequently depending on the amount of use.

Question: How does Air Fresh Chem-Dry clean upholstery?

Answer: Our core cleaner, The Natural is applied with low pressure. The carbonated cleaning bubbles lift dirt, soil, airborne allergens and spots, Then, we use hot carbonated extraction to remove the cleaning solution, dirt, soil and airborne contaminants.

Question; Do you offer protection or stain guard?

Answer: Yes, after the upholstery cleaning, you can have the furniture stain guarded with Chem-Dry’s Protectant.

Question: How long does it take for furniture to dry?

Answer: Most cases within just a couple of house, sometimes up to over night drying depending on the fabric and soil condition.

Question: How often should I clean my tile and grout?

Answer: As with carpet, many factors must be considered when determining the frequency of cleaning. Foot traffic, children, pets, and routine floor maintenance will affect how often you need to have your tile & grout cleaned.

Question: Why should I have my tile and grout cleaned?

Answer: Just like carpet, dirt builds up over time dulling your tile’s appearance and discoloring your grout. A thorough, professional tile & grout cleaning is the only way to remove the deep-down dirt.

Question: Why should I have my grout lines sealed?

Answer: Grout is a porous material that absorbs soil and spills, just like carpet. Having a sealant applied will help create a protective barrier, giving you more time to clean up dirt and liquid spills before they soak into the grout. The type of sealant you choose will determine the degree of stain resistance.
